As it was a bank holiday last weekend, I drove out to Oxford. As well as going punting (well, I was sort of a tourist), I went out to see the white horse at Uffington. It’s made from chalk, and spans the side of a hill, and was originally constructed “2 or 3” thousand yearsContinue reading “Out into the country”

Sometimes, London gets to you.
RRRR. Barclays just charged me a £30 penalty, and I’ve incurred a £50 fine for not paying my congestion charge (I thought you could pay it up to 24 hours afterwards, but it’s only till midnight). And it’s raining. And I’m ill. Woe is me, woe is me, etc., fade music, curtain.

Always strange leaving a place – even though I’m all grown up so never properly lived there. Took a couple of photos, including some of the village churchyard. Scalby churchyard.Continue reading “All years leaving”
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
A very nice day on Saturday, so took a trip to Kew Gardens, and walked for miles… Always very strange when you end up in a park in London (or any other big metropolis), becuase you catch bits and pieces of the city through the gaps in the borders: a skyrise at the end ofContinue reading “Lazing on a sunny afternoon”
